"Dairy farming for us is our passion, our way of life, what we know, and what we enjoy."

Nestled in our quaint country town of Luana, Iowa, quality is our focus at Lamborn Farms LLC. We strive for supreme cow comfort with our belief that comfortable cows produce a lot of good, quality milk.

We milk 160 Holstein cows. I manage all aspects of the dairy herd, including milking the animals twice a day and am responsible for herd health, too, with assistance from my parents, Larry and Jane. My father and I handle the field work and all of the maintenance issues that come with farming 650 acres of corn, soybeans, hay, and oats, which is nearly all fed back to our dairy herd. Through our strict management, we have been able to persevere year after year for more than 150 years.

Cow comfort is a top priority for us. We believe how our cows are housed and milked aid to our overall success. Cows are housed in a well-ventilated “freestall” barn and lay on well-groomed mattresses, bedded with soft, dry, comfortable wood shavings daily. We wear latex gloves when milking our cows and follow strict milking procedures to ensure the purest quality milk. Once our cows are done being milked, their teats are dipped with an iodine-based solution to promote good udder health and hygiene.

Our love for our family, cows and land is overwhelming. We love raising our family on our multi-generational dairy farm and know that we are instilling deep values into our children, such as commitment, dedication, and care for animals and the land. te good udder health and hygiene.

We have four children (Brock, Blake, Avery, and Jaxon) whom can all be found helping Grandpa feed baby calves or with me farming our fields, which one day they could take over. Dairy farming for us is our passion, our way of life, what we know, and what we enjoy.
