Dairy Farming About Us

About Us

With less than 2 percent of the U.S. population involved in farming today, many people don’t have the opportunity to visit a dairy farm. Add the fact that most people are three to four generations removed from the farm, and a pretty big information gap has evolved.

America’s Dairy Farmers® welcome the opportunity to connect the general public with life on the farm. U.S. dairy farms -- 98 percent of them family owned and operated -- are as diverse as the landscape that serves as their backdrop, but all dairy farmers work hard every day to provide safe, wholesome and nutritious milk to the public. They also care for their animals and the land as they grow their businesses, making positive contributions to rural America.

The spirit of America’s dairy farm families is alive and well. It’s a pleasure to bring you closer to dairy farming than you ever thought you’d be.
